Are you passionate about safety and quality assurance? Are you eager to kick-start your career in a dynamic and fast-growing industry? Look no further! Tricel are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic QHSE graduate to join the team.

The QHSE Graduate programme is split into two streams – Quality and Health and Safety. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high quality industry leading products and services that meet and exceed our customer requirements are delivered. Health & safety is where you will mitigate risk and keep our employees, contractors, and visitors safe. You will assist our experienced Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) team in managing, updating, and adding to our Quality and Safety systems, conducting risk assessments & develop key auditing skills. In addition, you will facilitate continuous improvement initiatives & gain experience working on Quality and Safety projects

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a strong foundation in QHSE within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Year 1 the role is based within the Quality Division

  • 6 months in Tricel Killarney with a further 6 months in two of our UK sites (Tricel Gloucester and Tricel Weston)

Year 2 the role is based within the H&S Division

  • 6 months in Tricel Killarney with a further 6 months in two of our UK sites (Tricel Gloucester and Tricel Weston)

You will gain knowledge of the breadth on Quality and Safety activities and systems, whilst developing an understanding in how Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment contribute to our group growth strategy. You will experience working with other functions such as Operations and Engineering. You will have regular one to ones with your manager to discuss your development and career. The successful candidate would be starting the QHSE Graduate Programme in September 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the QHSE team to develop & maintain our Quality and Safety systems, including updating policies and procedures in line with statutory requirements, customer requirements and good industry practice
  • Conduct investigation, root cause analysis and corrective & preventative actions for QSHE issues including investigation of customer complaints, internal quality non-conformances, incidents, accidents, near miss & dangerous occurrences
  • Conduct QSHE audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, (internal audits, compliance audits, safety inspections etc)
  • Support the implementation of training programs to enhance employee awareness of Quality & Health & Safety.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to QHSE activities.
  • Participate in project planning and execution to ensure Quality & Health & Safety requirements are considered at planning stage and changes are planned and implemented appropriately.
  • Any other duties that may arise

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline).
  • Strong passion for safety, quality assurance, and environmental sustainability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse data effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards will be an advantage.
  • IT savvy and highly proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint skills and Word.
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Aptitude to learning and showing initiative
  • Excellent Team player
  • Open to feedback and eager to develop
